The 8-Point Checklist for Verifying Your GLP-1 Provider

The GLP-1 telehealth market has hundreds of providers. Most are legitimate. Some are not. The FDA took enforcement action against 30+ companies in March 2026. Here's how to tell the difference.

1. Licensed Prescriber

Your prescription must come from an MD, DO, NP, or PA licensed in your state. Verify at your state medical board website. If the provider won't tell you who prescribed, leave.

2. Medical Intake Before Prescribing

Health history, current medications, allergies, contraindications. If you received a prescription without any screening, that provider skipped basic safety.

3. 503A Pharmacy Sourcing

Ask whether your medication comes from a 503A (patient-specific) or 503B (outsourcing facility) pharmacy. With the FDA's proposed 503B exclusion, 503A is the more durable pathway.

4. Proper Labeling

Your medication should show: active ingredient and concentration, pharmacy name and license, your name, storage instructions, and expiration date.

5. Cold Chain Shipping

Injectable GLP-1s require refrigeration or cold packs during shipping. A padded envelope with no cooling in warm weather = potentially compromised product.

6. Follow-Up Care

Legitimate providers offer check-ins, dose adjustments, and side effect management. A refill mill that disappears between shipments is selling a product, not providing healthcare.

7. Transparent Pricing

Know exactly what you pay before committing. Auto-renewals without consent, hidden processing fees, and unclear refund policies are warning signs.
